Undergraduate:
Full time: Full-time status for undergraduate students is from 12 to 18 credit hours per semester.
Part-time: Part-time status is defined as enrollment in less than 12 credit hours per term.
Graduate:
Full-time status for graduate students is determine by the number of credits to complete the degree/certificate, as follows:
MBA: 6-12
MSE: 6-9
MA TEFL: 9-12
LL.M.: 6-9
MPSIA: 12-15
MEIESM: 9-15
MSCIS: 9-15
MPH: 12-18
MSM: 9-15 (3 during the summer term)
Graduate Certificates: Determined by the total credits required as noted in the education contract.
For all students:
Note: In order to study part-time, students must file a Petition for Part-Time Study in the Office of the Registrar and it must be approved by the head of the academic program. Undergraduate students are not eligible to study part-time
Overload: A course load above the above-cited range is a heavy demand on students. Students may elect an overload, taking a maximum of 21 units in a semester, with the approval of their Program Chair or Dean in the case of MPH.
A non-regular load (including part time or overload) may have implications on the student’s tuition and tuition privileges. Students should check with the Office of the Registrar and the Office of Financial Aid.
