A program chair at the AUA is an ancillary administrative appointment made by the Provost, in consultation with the Dean, typically for a term of three years and subject to renewal (see Program Chair Selection Procedures).  ​A program chair is typically a full-time faculty member.  For part-time programs the program chair may be a part-time appointment, depending on the needs of the program.
